From teaching herself to DJ using tape decks at the age of seven, to breaking a record by becoming the first female to win the Vestax Juice DJ Competition in 2004, DJ Kayper’s stratospheric rise has consolidated her reputation, as one of the most highly regarded DJs in the industry.

‘People always say I need a gimmick – like I should wear a catsuit or something – but I know I don’t need to. I tell them to watch my videos on YouTube and they’ll see that I can really DJ,’ Kayper told The Telegraph Magazine in a recent interview. This is not an exaggeration, her unequivocal skills, have earned her residencies, and headline shows at the world’s most renowned nightclubs, including London’s Ministry of Sound, Bar Rumba and exclusive venues like Bungalow 8 and The Box, New York City’s famed SOB’s, M2, The Knitting Factory and Joe’s Pub, LA hot spots Eden & Supper Club, Chicago’s Sub 51, Vegas’ Moon at the Palms Hotel and Chateau at The Paris Hotel. Currently Kayper holds the main residency at cult London club The Box.

Her self-titled radio show, The DJ Kayper Show on The BBC Asian Network is entering it’s fifth year, and has grown into one of the station’s biggest exports with a global listenership, boasting an impressive list of guests including, Drake, Nas, Will.I.Am, Common, Questlove, Damian Marley Lupe Fiasco, Nelly Furtado and Nicki Minaj to U.K. artists Estelle, Tinchy Stryder, and Jay Sean.

Kayper has played at Cannes Film Festival, the Flaunt Magazine Party at Coachella, The Tao Lounge and Microsoft Bing Lounge at Sundance and SXSW in Austin to industry events in LA and Mumbai, Kayper’s presence is in high demand and it increases daily.  With a recent TV commercial for Nike following past TV adverts that show her DJing on the BBC along with guest DJ spots for Fader Magazine, DJ Kayper’s brand grows daily.

Kayper has played support DJ to Pete Rock, Pharaoh Monch, Ghostface (Wu-Tang Clan), Guru (Gangstarr), Common, Arrested Development and Roy Ayres.  Most recently she was the tour DJ for Taio Cruz in the UK.

Kayper’s legendary club night, Ebonics which spanned 2003 – 2008, led her to spin alongside idol DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Cash Money, DJ Premier, Stone Love, Clinton Sparks, Killa Kela, and The Scratch Perverts to name a few.
